Understanding the Standard Cancellation Policy at 4stay

At 4stay, we strive to ensure a transparent and equitable booking experience for both guests and hosts. We've recently updated the Standard Cancellation Policy to include comprehensive provisions that enhance predictability and security. Below are the detailed terms of our policy and how they impact both parties.

Standard Cancellation Policy Details

1. More than 30 Days Before Move-in

Guests who cancel their booking more than 30 days before the scheduled move-in date will receive a 100% refund. This flexibility supports our guests' changing needs while providing hosts enough time to find new bookings.

2. Within 30 Days of Move-in

If a cancellation occurs within 30 days of the move-in date, the first month's rent is charged, and the remaining months are refunded. This clause is essential for compensating hosts for their potential loss of income due to late cancellations, while still offering guests some level of refundability for longer bookings.

3. During the Stay

  • If 60 Days Notice is Given: Guests must pay for just one additional monthโ€™s rent if they provide at least 60 days' notice before leaving earlier than initially planned. This notice period is crucial for hosts to effectively manage their property and minimize disruptions.

  • If Less Than 60 Days Notice is Given: Guests who do not provide a 60-day notice will be responsible for the full amount of the originally scheduled stay. This policy underlines the importance of commitment and the impacts of unexpected changes on hosts.

4. Shorter than 30 Days Bookings

All bookings with a duration shorter than 30 days are non-refundable. This policy reflects the increased risk and reduced timeframe hosts have to rebook their properties.

5. 48-Hour Cancellation Grace Period

  • Eligibility: This grace period is valid if the cancellation is made 30+ days before the move-in. It allows guests a brief window to reconsider their booking decisions without penalty, fostering confidence and satisfaction in the booking process.

Additional Provisions

  • Service Fees: Please note that service fees are non-refundable. These fees are used to cover the costs associated with the maintenance and operation of the 4stay platform.

  • Local Variations: The Standard Cancellation Policy may adapt to local legal requirements or market conditions. Both guests and hosts are encouraged to check for any regional variations.

  • Extenuating Circumstances: In cases of unforeseen events that necessitate cancellation, documentation will be required, and cases will be evaluated individually to ensure a fair response.

Conclusion

The Standard Cancellation Policy at 4stay is crafted to balance fairness and flexibility, ensuring a smooth and predictable booking experience for all parties involved. By familiarizing yourself with this policy, you can make informed decisions that minimize surprises and enhance your overall experience on the platform.
